“Rooted In Comunidad, We Thrive”

About the Summit

“Rooted in Comunidad, We Thrive” is both an affirmation and a challenge. The 2026 Stanford Latino Alumni Summit is designed to look closely at where we come from, take stock of where we are, and decide what we are building together next—celebrating our roots and envisioning our future.

This gathering builds on the first Stanford Latino Alumni Summit, held on campus in 2019, which brought 389 alumni together in a powerful moment of reconnection and reflection. This year, we return with greater urgency and intention, carrying that work forward in a different context and with new questions before us.

Across three days, the program follows a clear arc—past, present, and future—bringing alumni together to make sense of this moment and build our next chapter. In this spirit, summit programming will include discussion panels, breakout conversations, cultural programming, and spaces for shared joy and connection.

We will revisit the histories that shaped Latino life at Stanford and beyond: the student organizing that pushed for change, the cultural expression that sustained community, and the intergenerational knowledge we carry forward.

We will examine the present with honesty: our multiple identities and communities, our rich arts and culture, our advocacy, and the tensions we are navigating around immigration, intersectionality, mental health, and public life.

And we will ask what it means to lead going forward: not just as individuals, but as a network with real reach, resources, and responsibility. This summit is a unique opportunity to strengthen alumni engagement and make a lasting impact within our communities.

This gathering takes place at a time when Latino communities are highly visible and unevenly protected—when many in our communities are navigating real questions about where they are safe, where they belong, and whether they are being heard. In Los Angeles, a place that holds both the depth of our cultural legacy and the contradictions of our current moment, we will come together to reflect and to act.

Today, there are more than 10,200 Stanford Latino alumni worldwide.

Through conversations, storytelling, and shared experiences, this summit is a chance to activate our potential. Together, we will honor where we come from and begin to shape what comes next.
